Well, Dire, do you recall that when I first arrived here all we wanted to do was charter a flight to northern Europe and enjoy ourselves in Amsterdam? A few short yrs later and it seems the Forumites are headed either to MJ's spacious compound in the humid East, for Mr. Earl's big and permanent vacation (though the mention of arrable land has me worried about blisters), or out West to SDH's Bunker in the Sand (though the official invites have yet to appear hereabouts). I think I may opt for the latter as the humidity always does the darnedest things with my hair.

In any case, just wanted folks to know how immensely proud I am of one and all for rebounding from recent activities of an anti-forum nature, and though this is nothing if not wasted space hardly better than a spammer, here are some lyrics to make it music related:

Men of Harlech! In the Hollow,
Do ye hear like rushing billow
Wave on wave that surging follow
Battle's distant sound?
Tis the tramp of Saxon foemen,
Saxon spearmen, Saxon bowmen,
Be they knights or hinds or yeomen,
They shall bite the ground!
Loose the folds asunder,
Flag we conquer under!
The placid sky now bright on high,
Shall launch its bolts in thunder!
Onward! 'tis the country needs us,
He is bravest, he who leads us
Honor's self now proudly heads us,
Freedom, God and Right!

Ahhhh - good times WT, good times :) many fine memories of those posts (the ones i have even a chance at remembering anyway)

since i was just out in AZ with Mrs Dire, I think opting for SDH's compound might rightly be both the Mrs and my choice for the post-apocolyptic event. fine people out there and certainly better than the heat and humidity of my current northeastern domicile. I do hope there is a pool at Hollow's Hideaway though - it does get rather hot out there.

Excuse me? "...men in the Hollow"?

Great, let the flood gates be opened for a torrent of pre-pubescent bathroom humor. Thanks.

I was looking curious at a profile page about someone also logged in same time as me on dead.net and this long report about a murderer named James Ward came on screen then page blocked on post comment, and would't move until I did my comment, and it landed,I don't know how,on forum "in memories" So I guess it was to remember victims of these crimes .Marye confirmed the Deads do not approve the company of such killers ,being no ship of fools .Still a bit shook up about this story but morning came back and I just heard my little red rooster and I got better, somewhat.

Yeah, I figured you'd catch that...I actually prefer the highly altered version from the movie Zulu, having heard them so often as a youngster on the late night movies growing up in the Bay Area.

When the gubmint gets done, I don't believe that having a bad hair day will reach quite the same catastrophic proportions. The tillable soil, however, is a threat with some teeth in it, and I for one, would much rather pay poor Mexican farmers for their skill sets than risk blisters on my guitar strumming fingers.

By the way, of course you're invited, every hacienda needs a PM and a lectern to sit the weather radio on. Bilingual PM's get preferential treatment.

Excellent; and don't forget the Dr Strangelove Mandate regarding the need for services in the spirit of eventual repopulation (apologies to Miss D for that!); and we might do well to have Rob playing Mandrake (perfect match with his comments about spitfires, Battle of Britian, etc., etc.).

I, Namor, masquerading as the mild-mannered Mandojammer, do hereby declare coverage of the Seas in capable hands.

With Mandrake taking care of the Land, who will step up and cover the Air?

Then we will have a true three member SEAL Team at the beck and call of the empire-building PM.

I heard that you may get in good with Miss D if you present her with a "Cowboy Fancy"

Ibanez that is!
